According to early reports, the 2018 BMW X7 is set to be presented at an auto show by the end of next year. There are automotive critics that firmly contend that the new BMW X7 will be the greatest sport utility vehicle within the automaker’s lineup. It is no shock that the latest addition to the BMW automotive portfolio will be entering in to the market amidst tight competition with its respective segment. Originally, the vehicle was reported to present as an extended version of the X5, but announcements proved that it will be a vehicle that is completely different. Do note that a small handful of similarities will be shared between the stable mates. There is not a great deal of confirmed information available regarding the vehicle, but what is known will be discussed below.
Exterior
Judging by the exterior design of the vehicle, it appears that it will be built for an advanced performance engine. During the New York Auto Show, it was confirmed that this sport utility vehicle will utilize either a six-cylinder V-8 or V-12 engine. It is also obvious that the automaker will derive power for the vehicle from an eDrive plug in hybrid as an option for consumers. There has been no mention of the transmission that the power unit options will be paired with. There are a handful of industry critics and experts that estimate that the most probable transmission will be automatic and will be coupled with All Mode four-wheel drive.
The exterior is said to feature a less sharp design as well as a muscular aesthetic. The signature grille of the sport utility vehicle will remain the same as the head lights have been narrowed and redesigned. Double accent curves have been afforded to the hood and very well may find their way onto the roof by the time of production. On the upper and lower parts of the door there are accent curves presented completing the overall stylish exterior look. It has been estimated that the vehicle will sit atop wheels measuring in at either 18 or 20 inches, due to a leaked image.
Interior
There is very little information available regarding the interior of the vehicle. Even with that being said, there are expectations that the cabin will be more spacious for both the driver and their passengers. Given the reputation of the luxury level automaker, consumers should expect for the interior to be brimming with the very latest in regards to automotive technologies. As we near the start of the new auto show seasons, the automaker is certain to release additional information.
At this point in time, the official release date for the 2018 BMW X7 has yet to be announced. Given that it is slated for a debut at an auto show towards the end of next year, many within the industry believe that it will arrive on the market early within 2018. Additionally, there is no indication as to what the base pricing would be at this time. It is certain that as we move closer to the end of the year, the automaker will begin to fill in the enormous gaps regarding this luxury level sport utility vehicle.
