Audi will equip the basic version of its R8 supercar with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that debuted in the new generation of the Porsche Panamera. Motor itself is a joint development of the Audi and Porsche. Engineers of both companies have created a whole family of V6 and V8 engines, bearing the name KoVoMo. These engines will be placed more models of brands Bentley and Lamborghini, which are also part of the concern Volswagen Group.
