The long-awaited Renault Alpine, which is to return to the market in the near future - most likely in 2016, will be the progenitor of a whole family of new sports models. This was announced by chief designer of the French company Laurence van der Acker told reporters at the exhibition in Moscow. According to a top manager if the new Alpine reap success in the market, he is ready to end his life personally work on creating more cars from the brand. According to Van der Acker final version of the design of the sports machine is now ready and presented to the President of Renault Carlos Ghosn, who was very pleased with it.
The idea to return to the market cult brand is being discussed by the management of Renault’s several years. In the spring of 2012, the company showed in Monte Carlo model concept Alpine A110-50 (pictured) with 400 hp, which was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the first coupe Alpine A110 Berlinette.
That same year, the French created alliance with the British company Caterham, with the result that was company Societe des Automobiles Alpine Caterham. It was based in the factory of Renault Dieppe, he had to create two sports cars - Renault Alpine and Caterham C120. They should be identical at 70%, but differ in appearance and price.
Ultimately, the project itself lasted a while at Renault decided not to completely change the design of their car. This caused a strain on partners, and ultimately in the spring two companies broke off relations after Renault bought Caterham share in their joint venture.
